Local author, playwright, and performer Kimball Allen is bringing his trademark style and sardonic wit to the Triple Door stage with Triple Threat, a live talk and variety show this Friday, April 3. Most recently known for his best-selling, off-Broadway production of Be Happy Be Mormon, Allen is finally fulfilling his childhood dream of having his very own talk show. It’s an exciting concept, a local, live take on the nighttime variety show theme, especially from someone as gifted as Allen.

The first of 4-5 planned shows per year, Triple Threat is starting off with a bang. Celebrity guests include writer & pundit Dan Savage, Seattle’s Skyscraper Hostess Mama Tits, and glam band Prom Queen. The full line-up also includes comedian Wilfred Padua, aerial Artist Tanya Brno, Artswest’ cast of Angry Housewives, storyteller Summer Waldron, magician Ace Carter, and Seattle Men’s Chorus ensemble Captain Smartypants.

Dan Savage Mama Tits

Savage, who recently made a deal with ABC to produce a sitcom based on his story, is always an entertaining guest. Between Dan and the perennially vociferous Mama Tits, there’ll be no shortage of mots both bon and not so bon. The musical headliner, cinematic, 60’s rock band Prom Queen, are fresh off the release of 2014’s Midnight Veil. And really, who isn’t a fan of Captain Smartypants?

Triple Threat with Kimball Allen debuts Friday, April 3 at the Triple Door. Seating starts at 6:30pm, which leaves you a whole 90 minutes to enjoy dinner before the 8pm show. Tickets start at $25, and can be purchased online here.
