The queer community and their allies gathered in Cal Anderson park on a beautifully sunny summer day to rally and march in solidarity with the DC Equality March in the nation’s capitol. Representatives from dozens of Seattle’s LGBTQ and allies nonprofit organizations were present, including organizer Seattle PrideFest, along with Mayor Ed Murray and several queer political candidates. Following the rally, the large crowd followed PrideFest’s giant-sized Pride flag through the streets of Capitol Hill and Downtown Seattle arriving finally at Seattle Center.
